Keeping Quiet

If you’ve been following the blog, you’ll have noticed that there has been precious little to follow for the past month. In fact, you’d be within your rights to wonder whether I’m a professional photographer at all, given the lack of assignment posts for the past month.

Rather than having nothing to do, I’ve been overloaded. More importantly, I’ve shot some of the best product and food/drink photography of my career. Problem is, I can’t show it to you just yet.

I’ve been working for two gift hamper companies on major catalogue shoots – one a long-standing client, the other just established by a friend of a friend. Each knows that I’ve been shooting for the other, though they don’t know each other’s identity. Both are targeting slightly different markets, and they offer a different range of hampers and gifts. Neither can prohibit me from working for the other. But that doesn’t mean I can simply go shooting my mouth off about them to each other either. They are, after all, competitors to some degree. So, while my ego is bursting to publish some of this recent work, it will have to wait a while until the respective companies have published their catalogues. At that point, any commercial sensitivity about their upcoming hamper and gift ranges will have evapourated, leaving me free to publish my favourite pictures from the shoots.

Until then, you’ll have to believe me when I say that I haven’t been idle.
